15th Charity Gala of the Germano Chincherini Foundation, Philanthropic Organization 2022

After two years since the last Gala, dated June 2019, due to the pandemic that brought the entire world to its knees, the 15th annual Gala of the Germano Chincherini Foundation, Philanthropic Organization, took place at the spectacular location of the Antares – Olimpo Hotel pool. 270 guests attended the charity dinner.
On December 21, 2021, the Foundation celebrated its twentieth anniversary, twenty years of projects that Mrs. Helena and her collaborators have carried out with dedication and great commitment. This first milestone marks our continued journey, focused on solidarity, never forgetting those who face daily struggles and suffering.

During the evening, the work done over the past two years was shared. On July 23, 2019, Caffè di Più opened its doors to the public. Caffè di Più is an initiative of the Germano Chincherini Foundation, Philanthropic Organization, created to offer people with disabilities real employment and training opportunities in the bar/restaurant industry. It is located in Salò (BS), in Piazza Zanelli, which has been renovated and converted into a modern café for this purpose. Coming from different backgrounds and contexts, with varying characteristics and ages, the trainees are not only actively involved in the project but are also followed and monitored by specialized staff. Fobap Onlus and Anffas Brescia have been present and active since the beginning of the project; they were later joined by the Garda Sociale Company with the municipal social services office, the NIL of Salò, and Social Work Vallesabbia, who are involved in the creation of individualized training and work placement paths.

Also in 2019, the Foundation purchased an entire building in Letojanni, located in Silemi Alta, consisting of 12 two- and three-room apartments, all furnished. Six apartments are designated for emergency housing, to assist those experiencing temporary accommodation difficulties. The other six are made available to the families of young patients from the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Department at the Bambino Gesù Hospital in Taormina, headed by Professor Sasha Agati, who expressed his gratitude to the Foundation for the charitable initiative in support of the department. . The Misericordia of Letojanni, free of charge, manages the apartments and welcomes the parents of the young patients. In 2020, there were numerous requests for donations in support of local volunteer organizations. A donation was made to the Misericordia San Giuseppe of Letojanni for the purchase of a new emergency ambulance, and another donation to the Fratres Blood Donors Group for the purchase of a Doblò van for transporting donated blood bags at the U.D.R. (Collection Unit) in Letojanni. Lastly, a donation was made to the Rangers International Volunteer Association for the purchase of a trolley to transport a water pump, useful in case of flooding. Even during the pandemic, the Foundation remained supportive, not only to the associations but also to families in need, contributing to the distribution of food supplies through the municipality of Letojanni.

At the end of the evening, Mrs. Helena, together with Dr. Pollini, presented a commemorative plaque and a watch to our employee Curcuruto Lauro, who retired, thanking him for his dedicated, serious, and highly professional work at our facility.
