After the surgery, José faced some complications that extended his stay in Italy, but thanks to the constant care of the doctors and the affection of his uncles, he overcame every difficulty.
The Misericordia volunteers assisted him daily, providing both logistical and emotional support throughout every stage of his journey.

On September 29, José celebrated his 15th birthday in Italy, surrounded by his uncles and the healthcare staff who had cared for him with affection.
The day was made special by gifts, colorful balloons, and a cake that filled the ward with smiles and emotion.
